Compress video,
without the upload.

Hit an email or Discord size limit? Shrink MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV files to a target size or quality — right in your browser.

How it works

  1. 1

    Drop your videos

Add one or more MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV files. They're decoded locally with WebCodecs — no upload.

  2. 2

    Choose how to compress

Pick a quality level (Light/Balanced/Strong) or a target size in MB. Optionally drop the resolution or remove audio for even smaller files.

  3. 3

    Compress & download

Each video is re-encoded to H.264 MP4 in your browser. See the estimated size, then download.

Frequently asked questions

Are my videos uploaded to a server?+

No. Everything runs in your browser with the WebCodecs API. Your videos never leave your device.

How does “Target size” work?+

You enter a size in MB and we calculate the bitrate needed to hit roughly that size based on the video's length. The result is approximate — audio and encoder overhead mean the final file can vary a little.

What's the difference between the quality levels?+

Light, Balanced and Strong re-encode at progressively lower bitrates relative to your source (about 70%, 45% and 25%). Lower levels make smaller files with more visible quality loss.

Why didn't my video get much smaller?+

If a video is already heavily compressed, there's little left to remove — and re-encoding can even add size. Try a stronger level, a lower resolution, or removing audio. The estimate shows the expected result before you start.

Which browsers are supported?+

Any browser with the WebCodecs API — Chrome, Edge, and Safari 16.4+. If your browser can't encode video, the tool will tell you.

Is it free?+

Yes — free, no signup, no watermarks.
