Image to ASCII art,
without the upload.

Turn any photo into text art in your browser. Dial in the width, character set and colors, then copy it or download a crisp PNG.

How it works

  1. 1

    Drop an image

Add a PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF or BMP. It's processed locally — nothing is uploaded.

  2. 2

    Tune the look

Set the character width, pick a charset, invert, or color the glyphs from the original pixels.

  3. 3

    Copy or download

Copy the text, save a .txt file, or export a high-resolution PNG of your ASCII art.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?+

No. The image is read into a canvas and converted to characters entirely in your browser. It never leaves your device.

Can I paste the result into Discord or a terminal?+

Yes. Use the Copy text button or download the .txt file. For chat apps, wrap it in a code block so the monospaced spacing lines up.

What does the width setting do?+

It's the number of characters per row. Higher values capture more detail but produce wider output — great for the PNG export, while a smaller width is better for pasting into messages.

Why does the PNG look better than the pasted text?+

The PNG renders at a fixed monospace size with correct aspect, and can color each glyph from the source image. Plain text depends on the font and line height wherever you paste it.

Is it free?+

Yes — free, no signup, no watermarks.
